The Loss of an Angel

As I sit here deciding what to say, my heart just wants to cry out. Last Thursday, I began having symptoms of a possible miscarriage. I frantically drove to the doctor where they said everything looked fine, however by Sunday things had began to get much worse. Josh and my parents rushed me to the ER where I found out the fate of my unborn child. When the doctor delivered the news my heart immediately broke. How could this happen? Why did this happen to me? What have I done to deserve this? These were all questions that ran through my mind. Words cannot express exactly how I truly feel. This is an experience that I know I will grow from with the help of the Lord. For some reason that I don't know, God chose to take this child to be with Him. I have to remember that God knows what is best and sees the big picture. Family and friends have shown so much love. Josh has been absolutely amazing through this whole ordeal. I am truly the luckiest woman to have such a wonderful husband. Knowing that the next couple of weeks and probably months will be a struggle, I ask that you pray for Josh and I as we go through this difficult time.

Story Behind the 3 Tests

Many people have asked, "Why is the world would you take 3 pregnancy tests?" Well, here is the story behind it all.

After finding out that Suzannah was pregnant, I went by her house to see how she was feeling. She was telling me about her symptoms and it sounded like how I was feeling. Josh and I had been trying for a while (8 months all together) and decided that this month I would not take a test until May 1st. Once I talked with Zan, I couldn't wait until then. That night I woke up around 2 A.M. I decided to take a test. I watch as the line appeared in the test window, but not the "pregnant" window, so I threw it in the trash and went back to bed.

The next morning, I got up and decided to look at the test again. Note: I had taken many tests prior this one and always checked it later to "make sure". All the tests prior still showed negative. Well when I checked this one it said positive. I read the directions again and it said "wait 3 minutes before reading results". I probably waited 10 seconds max before throwing it in the garbage when I took it at 2 A.M. Then I read "don't read after 10 minutes". Knowing I couldn't trust this test because I didn't follow the directions properly, I took the second one. This is where I made the decision to use the digital test. I had been wanting to use it for when I "knew" I was pregnant so I could see the actual word "Pregnant". Goofy I know. This test was the only one I had left. I took it and waited. The results were it....PREGNANT! I was thinking, "No way!" I looked at it again and began crying. I was so excited and couldn't believe it. I ran and woke up Josh to show him. He smiled and hugged me. I told him about the test I took in the early morning and told him that I was going to go by CVS to buy one more to make sure. I bought the test and took it at school. This time I watched as both lines appeared. I was ecstatic because I knew it was true. We had tried for so long and now it finally happened. We couldn't be any happier knowing that we are going to have a precious baby around Christmas. Please pray for that this child that I carry in my belly will be safe until delivery and that we would be parents that God wants us to be. Sea World Disaster

On Thursday, Josh took off work so that we could take Tymber (our niece) to Sea World. It has been a long time since Josh has been and I really wanted to see the look on Tymber's face when we saw Shamu. Not to mention, I was able to get in free because I was a Florida teacher.

The day started out great. We were on schedule to leave (surprisingly). We really didn't get into much traffic on the way there and Tymber slept the whole way which I was happy about because I knew it would be a long day for her. As soon as we hit International Drive, we moved about 20 feet per every 5 minutes (NO KIDDING!) Tymber kept saying, "Move people! Get out our way!" We sat on International Drive for 45 minutes! I was livid and this was just the beginning and what would be a near disaster of a day.

Finally we made it to the entrance and I could not believe the number of people who thought it was a good idea to go the Sea World on Thursday, April 9th! We really should have turned around and gone somewhere else. After parking, we walked to the entrance and Josh had to wait in line to get Tymber's ticket. (We had already purchased Josh's, but we wanted to make sure that Tymber would go with us before we bought hers.) I got in the line for the passports (the teacher line along with other people who wanted to get their annual pass.) Josh waited in line about 30 minutes to buy the ticket and by that time I had moved maybe 10 yards in the line I was waiting in. Seriously, Sea World wanted to "reward" teachers for their job, but then you want them to wait in a line that would probably take them about 2 hours to get to the desk! I really have the nerve to call Sea World and tell them how aggravated it makes me, but I would probably be wasting my breath. So needless to say, I told Josh to buy me a ticket, which was $75. The whole reason we decided to go to Sea World was because I got in free. Can you tell that I am still a tad bit upset about the whole ordeal?

Finally we made it in the park. I glanced at my watch and it was noon! That made it even worse.The day was just about shot and we just went through the gate. We decided to see Shamu first.

Tymber really liked it and kept saying, "He not going to eat me."

We then moved on the the Sea Lions which she liked. By this time our bellies were talking to us so we waited 45 minutes in the hot sun for a slice a pizza that costed $7. Tymber fell asleep waiting in line for lunch.

After we ate we went around to all the attractions. We saw the penguins, puffins, sharks and the Clydesdale horses (which happened to be her favorite even though they were really the only true land animal at the whole park). We took her to the carousel and she "rode" a shark (what she told her Daddy when she got home).

Before leaving we stopped at the souvenir shop and Tymber picked out a Clydesdale horse and cuddled up in the stroller. By this time it was around 5 p.m. and we didn't make it 2 minutes out the gate and she was zonked out.

Next time we decide to take a trip to Orlando it won't...I repeat...it won't be during Spring Break!

Fun Filled Saturday

The day started off with Leighton's 2nd birthday. I still can't believe it has been 2 years since this sweet girl was born. I was able to see some friends that I haven't seen in a while. The kids played around the park and it really made me wish that I had a little one running around. I was able to snap some really cute pictures of some of the cutest kids.

From Leighton's party we headed to the Jag's stadium to see Supercross (motorcycle racing). Not too long ago, Josh bought a cheap dirt bike because his cousin Jason got him interested in riding. This was definitely a "new" experience for both of us, but we highly enjoyed the night. It is amazing how those guys can ride and stay under control going that fast.

Before the main event, there were 4 guys who jumped ramps. This is actually 3 guys doing a back flip one behind the other. This was unbelievable.

Overall, the day was quite busy, but we had a great time. Going to Supercross is something we will do again.

You Might Be a Redneck if

you hunt for squirrels after dinner. Last night we had our usual family dinner night at the Musgrove's. Well Josh and Bruce (Josh's brother) had the idea to go hunting for squirrels because supposedly they had been eating all the corn for deer hunting. I tried talking them out of murdering these poor creatures, but they didn't care to hear it. After the first couple of shots, the squirrels got smart and decided to stay out of their range. However, one was quite unlucky and couldn't get away.

Need for a Change

While driving to work this morning, I was listening to the radio and the DJ said that today was the first day of spring...and that got me thinking.

Every month in my classroom I try and decorate for the season or the next holiday. I usually buy some cute decorations to hang from the ceiling, window clings for my door and a cute flag to hang outside. For example, this month I have clovers and St. Patrick's Day decor. Well...I have a close teacher friend of mine (I won't mention any names) who still has Christmas decor hanging up. She still has a snowman flag and snowflakes on her door! I mean this MIGHT be okay if we lived up north, but for crying out loud, we live in Florida! This makes me think of the Gretchen Wilson song "Redneck Woman" when she says that the girl leaves her Christmas lights up all year long.


I really think it is about time for a change.
